Overview

E-Z Blocks are a unique type of insulated concrete form, or ICF. When our blocks are filled with concrete, the concrete is what provides the structural strength of the wall. The blocks are used as a stay-in-place form for the concrete as it is poured. Our blocks are made out of material that has a very high insulation value. When completed, a wall built from our blocks is (1) very strong, (2) well-insulated, (3) virtually soundproof, and (4) nonflammable.

Cost

Among the many breakthroughs our product has achieved, the most important has been in cost reduction. We are the only ICF that is directly cost competitive with wood construction. Stucco can be easily applied to our blocks, further increasing the savings for the builder. As an ICF, the insulating properties of E-Z blocks are superior to other methods of construction. Our blocks are a unique stabilized blend of natural materials which create special insulative characteristics. Filling them with concrete creates a tight seal to nearly eliminate air leakage. The concrete itself plays an important role by acting as a "thermal mass" which smoothes out variations in temperature, keeping your room far more comfortable in both hot and cold weather. Installation

This is another area where E-Z blocks outperforms the competition. Our blocks are simple and intuitive to install. Our blocks interlock together as they are stacked. No mortar is needed. A full wall can be poured without using any kind of bracing. The blocks are durable and resist damage, but can easily be cut with a handsaw. Fire Resistance

E-Z Block materials have a fire resistance rating of one hour/inch and therefore can act as fire barriers between apartment units or similar structures which may require a specific fire resistance to meet local codes. Unlike other ICF's, E-Z Blocks are virtually unaffected by fire and do not melt or give off any smoke or toxic emissions when exposed to open flames.
